Not a scrap yard. Not eBay.
ChipFlip is a UK buyer for working CPUs, RAM, SSDs and NVMe drives. We pay 20–60% more than scrap merchants because we don't scrap — we test, grade, and resell.
Why we exist
Most ways to sell used components in the UK are bad: dump them on eBay (slow, fees eat the profit), take them to a scrap yard (paid by the kilogram, regardless of what they actually are), or throw them in the bin (worst — these parts have years of life left).
ChipFlip is the option in between: a flat-rate price list, you post to us, and payment within a working day. No haggling, no auctioning, no collection of half-pence per gram.
How we got here
ChipFlip is a service of Pyco Renew Ltd, an IT asset disposal company based in Rochdale. Pyco Renew has been processing end-of-life IT equipment for businesses across the UK for years — the back-office testing, grading, data destruction and resale infrastructure already exists.
ChipFlip applies that same infrastructure to the consumer-side market: anyone with a few CPUs or sticks of RAM in a drawer can sell with the same testing rigour and trust we apply to enterprise clients.
What we stand for
Test before we pay
Bench-tested on receipt. The price you see is for Grade A. If something grades lower, we tell you exactly why with photos — accept the regrade or have it returned at our cost.
NIST 800-88 wipe
Every SSD wiped to UK and EU data-destruction standard on receipt. We don't read, copy, or recover anything. Your data is gone before resale.
WEEE-routed
Anything we can't resell goes through Pyco Renew's WEEE-compliant recycling pipeline. Routed through WEEE channels.
What you see is what you get
The price list is the price list. No "we'll quote on receipt", no opaque pricing. Only Grade A/B/C/X bands, all documented.
