We bench-test every CPU, RAM stick and SSD on receipt — free. No test rig needed at your end. We only pay for what's working, and we return anything that fails at our cost.
If we grade lower than your quote, we send everything back at our cost. No relisting fees, no shipping charges, no questions. You quote it — we honour it, or you get it back free.
How we grade what you send
Every component is graded on receipt. The price you see above is for Grade A.
Tested working
Boots cleanly, no bent pins, no thermal damage, no missing components. Pays at the listed price.
Working with cosmetic flaws
Boots fine but has minor scuffs, sticker residue, or one slightly bent pin. Pays at 80–90% of list.
Untested / unknown
Pulled from a system but not bench-tested. We test on receipt. Pays 60–80% of list as a deposit.
Faulty / damaged
Won't boot, cracked die, bent pins, or burnt. We don't buy these — return at our cost or recycle free.
How to pack & send your stuff
Get this right and you get paid the full quote. Get it wrong and we'll have to re-grade.
CPUs
- Each chip in tray, clamshell, or anti-static foam
- If loose: bubble wrap individually, then small jiffy bag
- Don't tape directly to the chip surface — residue counts as a flaw
RAM
- Each stick individually bubble-wrapped (mandatory for premium pricing)
- Anti-static bag if you have one
- Never stack sticks loose against each other
SSDs & NVMe
- M.2 / NVMe in anti-static sleeve or bubble wrap
- 2.5" SSDs can be stacked with bubble wrap between
- Wipe data first if you can — we wipe again on receipt regardless
Shipping
- You arrange and pay for postage with any UK carrier — Royal Mail, DPD, Evri, ParcelForce, etc.
- Royal Mail Tracked 48 is plenty for small CPU/RAM/SSD lots; DPD or Evri makes sense for bulk
- Insure for the full quote value — we cover return postage on rejected items only
- We email the postal address as soon as you lock a quote
Why we pay more than scrap yards
Scrap yards melt boards down for the gold and copper inside — typically £20–40 of recoverable metal per kilo of mixed boards. We don't smelt anything. Through our parent company Pyco Renew, we test, refurbish, and resell working components on B2B markets, which means we can pay 5–20× more for the parts that boot. Anything that doesn't boot, we send to a partner and split nothing — that's why we won't buy faulty stuff.
Bulk lots & trade accounts
Selling 50+ CPUs, a server rack's worth of RAM, or running an IT recycling business? We pay 5–15% over list on bulk lots and can send our own van for commercial pickups across the North West, M62 corridor, and London. Trade accounts get monthly invoicing and priority processing. WhatsApp +44 7908 749694 with a list.
Data security & privacy
Every SSD and NVMe is securely wiped on receipt before any test or resale. Drives that can't be wiped are physically destroyed. We don't read, copy, or examine any data on incoming drives. If you'd prefer to wipe yourself before sending, that's fine too.
Compliance & legal
Operated by Pyco Renew Ltd. UK law (Scrap Metal Dealers Act 2013) requires photo ID and proof of address on first sale of used IT components — one-time check, then on file. Waste Transfer Notes provided on request.
